In 2014, we were all treated to John Wick, the action thriller starring Keanu Reeves that blew all of our proverbial socks off. (I’ve said it before, I NEED better socks.) Lucky for us, the sequel is due out in February 2017, and Summit Entertainment has released the official synopsis below:

“Keanu Reeves returns in the sequel to the 2014 hit as legendary hitman John Wick who is forced to back out of retirement by a former associate plotting to seize control of a shadowy international assassins’ guild. Bound by a blood oath to help him, John travels to Rome where he squares off against some of the world’s deadliest killers. Lionsgate’s “John Wick: Chapter 2” arriving in theaters on February 10, 2017.”

I am on board for everything in that synopsis, from the classic “pulled from retirement” trope (the only thing missing would be him living on a houseboat), to the eventual clash with an entire assassins’ guild. The only issue I have is with the movie being released February 10, 2017. Ten months seems like a long time for me to burn the candle for Wick. However, if the goal of the sequel is to up the ante from the first movie, then 10 months will definitely be worth the wait.

John Wick: Chapter 2, also starring Common and Bridget Moynahan, is directed by Chad Stahelski and David Leitch.
