John Carpenter Classics Get Amazing New Movie Posters

Attention, all of you hardcore fans of horror and suspense maestro John Carpenter! Soon, you will be able to purchase some truly amazing theatrical movie posters for four of his classic films from the ’80s: The Fog, They Live, Escape from New York, and Prince of Darkness. Each of these were illustrated by artist and Carpenter superfan Matt Ferguson for Vice Press and StudioCanal, and were designed for the release of their new 4K restorations, which hit theaters in the UK last year.

For one week only starting on January 10, Vice Press and Grey Matter Art will be making these gorgeous posters available to collectors to purchase, and all four of them will be in their classic cinema quad sizes, a huge 40×30 inches. Each poster will retail for £50/$60 or all four can be purchased as a set for £150/$180. Each print will be signed and numbered by the artist, and the total size of the edition will be based on the number of posters ordered during this period. And as a special bonus, those who buy the complete set will also receive a never-before-released mini print.

In a statement, artist Matt Ferguson said, “Last year I had the distinct pleasure of being hired by StudioCanal to work on the 4K John Carpenter classics. I conceptualized and made all of the key art for the films. It was a dream job for me and I am really happy the art came out pretty much exactly as I intended. My ideal versions of the art are the UK quad size, it’s the way the art was intended to be viewed and also my personal favourite dimensions for movie posters, so I am really happy that we are getting to make these available to people.”

All four will posters will be released via the Vice Press website as well as at Grey Matter Art, starting at 5pm GMT/12pm
EST/9am PST on January 10, and will remain available until the same time on January 17. Edition size will be dictated by number of prints purchased during this period. Don’t miss this opportunity to adorn your walls with these incredible homages to some of the coolest movies the ’80s ever produced!
