So, you may or may not have heard, but a little independent movie called Avengers: Age of Ultron hit movie theaters across the country this weekend. I hear a few people have gone to see it and it’s doing ok at the box office. So in light of this little movie’s release, as part of Jimmy Fallon‘s regular “Thank You Notes” segment on The Tonight Show, he decided it was the appropriate time to thank Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in proper manner. First to be thanked: The Incredible Hulk, although Jimmy didn’t seem to know whether or not the Hulk’s civilian name was Bruce Banner or David Banner (there’s an actual reason for this, as in the 1970’s TV show it was actually changed changed from Bruce to David Banner, because the network thought the name Bruce sounded too gay. Yeah, I don’t get it either.)
Jimmy didn’t just end with the Hulk though; he managed to also thank the movie’s titular villain Ultron for kind of being a Terminator-light. What do you know Jimmy Fallon? Ultron was a thing, like, way before the Terminator movies ever were. If anything, The Terminator is a rip off of Ultron! And X-Men’s Days of Future Past story too! Ok, Ok, sorry…I just had to nerd out for a second there. No more nerd rage. Actually what he says about Ultron is pretty much right on the money, and that’s coming from someone who liked him in the movie.
