One of the benefits of getting to host a weekly Doctor Who retrospective series on BBC America is that you are actually gifted at working sonic screwdriver. It’s true; not many people can say they have one that actually drives screws sonically, but Hannah Hart has one for hosting The Doctor’s Finest, a show counting down eight of the best episodes of Doctor Who‘s recent years. In the two weeks the show’s been on, Hannah’s already talked about “Blink,” “The Waters of Mars,” and both parts of “The End of Time.” This week she’ll welcome Grant Imahara to talk about “Vincent and the Doctor” and “The Doctor’s Wife.”
At any rate, that’s why Hannah has a sonic screwdriver, and since they shot all the host segments for The Doctor’s Finest in the Nerdist studios, our own Jessica Chobot used it as an excuse for Hannah to fix various objects that needed fixing, including a coffee machine, a phone, and also maybe something Jessica doesn’t want on her backside anymore. The less said about that the better, probably… Ah, to be able to sonic things on your own.
New episodes of The Doctor’s Finest air every Saturday at 8/7c on BBC America leading up until the premiere of Series 9. And if you’d like to take a look at a preview of the new episode, check back on Saturday afternoons to see what I have to say about the episodes on display.
