Mission: Impossible is by far one of the better film franchises going. It really is a living example of a series where (almost) every film is legitimately better than the last, with the most recent one, Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol, achieving more praise than any of the other films and landing with the highest box office gross in the franchise. But whatâs even more interesting is, in the seriesâ 18 year history, there have only been four films. If thereâs one thing you got to admire about Tom Cruise, itâs his refusal to do one of these movies until the story is perfect.
As far as that perfection goes, many would argue one of the things that made Ghotocol the best entry in the series was Jeremy Renner. Now, with production on the newest film looming, the acclaimed actor confirmed he would be involved in the new film. While speaking with Yahoo! in regards to the possibility of joining True Detective season two, the actor stated the following: âIt’s kind of unlikely. In fact, I’m kind of strapped time-wise doing Avengers 2, and Mission: Impossible 5 is rearing its head, and then they want to do another Bourne movie. It’s unlikely I can find the time right now. And that’s all right. It’s just really high-class problems â pretty awesome to have. Even if I really wanted to do it, which I don’t, I couldn’t.â
And there you have it. Renner + Mission: Impossible 5. Itâs a reality, and thatâs awesome.
Are you pumped to see Renner come back for another mission? Who else are you looking forward to seeing on screen in 2015? Let us know in the comments below.

Renner was the bomb in The Town yo. No seriously, he was awesome in that movie. “Fack you”
Is he saying he doesn’t want to do True Detective even if he could? Kind of a funny thing to say. I mean, not that everybody in Hollywood should sell their first born to be in True Detective, but it sounds as if he wouldn’t even consider it.
Anyway, I enjoy Renner’s work, both in the newest Bourne and in Ghost Protocol and of course Avengers, so I’m chuffed with a new M:I installment.
