This weekend marks the opening of Seventh Son, a mystical adventure set in a world where gigantic monsters roam free, shapeshifting witches must choose alliances, and the supernatural and human worlds battle against each other. When an ancient evil (Julianne Moore) is unleashed, a chain of events is set in motion that brings the last remaining warrior of a mystical order, Master Gregory (Jeff Bridges) and a prophesized hero (Ben Barnes) — the seventh son of a seventh son — together. The cantankerous mentor and his reluctant companion only have mere days to stop the forces of evil, in which the seventh son must learn how to use his powers, hopefully for good.
Editor in Chief Brian Walton attended the Seventh Son premiere in New York City, where stars Jeff Bridges, Julianne Moore, and Ben Barnes spoke about the making of this fantastical story, its literary roots, and the film’s little Big Lebowski reunion.
