NetherRealm Studios is sparing no expense with the online capabilities of their next Mortal Kombat game, and this morning they released a video detailing some of the features that players will be graced with. We’ll be able to join online factions, participate in MMO-like world events that last 24 hours, and return to the old school Mortal Kombat past-time of climbing dynamic towers when the game hits in a couple of months. There’s even been whipsers of a 5 versus 5 player mode being somewhere in the mix as well. Mmm, sounds kompelling. Check out the full video for yourself right meow:
Ah! This all sounds like too much fun to be frickin’ legal! Another thing worth noting about this video–besides the slew of awesome features that I cannot wait to get my hands onâ is the fact that it may have revealed a couple of characters prematurely. At about the one minute mark when the screen zooms in on one of the dynamic towers, there’s a blurry visual of a guy with metal arms, and a guy holding a bow and arrow. The guy with metal arms is clearly the MK series veteran Major Jackson “Jax” Briggs, but it’s rather debatable who the guy with bow and arrow is. A few coworkers and I have come to the conclusion that it’s Nightwolf. Ed Boon, on the other hand, says otherwise:
“@VikingSwordH @noobde Jax and Robin Hood konfirmed! EB: Don’t you recognize Green Arrow when you see him? https://t.co/TNT81ze7Ak
â Ed Boon (@noobde) February 6, 2015
Okay, this clearly has to be a good old-fashion Ed Boon troll, especially when considering that this blurry figure looks nothing like Green Arrow. Not to mention that if Oliver Queen was to be included in the game, how would NetherRealm be able to eclipse the very stern issue that they faced while making Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe: DC’s reluctance to allow its characters to be murdered on screen via MK fatalities. Simmer down folks, I doubt this is who you may want it to be. But you know what? Perhaps if we do speculate that it’s Green Arrow, we’ll possibly get him as DLC via the Law of Attraction. It really works guys, trust me, I’ve used it.
Mortal Kombat X is set to hit stores on April 15, 2015. Does this game’s online look like it’ll be consuming your soul Shang Tsung style? Do you think this blurry figure is, in fact, Green Arrow. Kindly konvey your thoughts in the komments below.
It’s because DC is a bunch of little bitches. Nobody ever dies, they have one or two heroes that actually kill and yet all the killing is done off-screen or stopped by one of their A-listers.
This is a video showing the Brazilian singer dubbing Cassie Cage in the new MK X, at 1:21 her line as Cassie translates “are you ok uncle Jax?”, sooo Yes, Jax is in the game, at least in a cutscene. http://jogos.uol.com.br/ultimas-noticias/2015/02/09/pitty-vai-dublar-lutadora-de-mortal-kombat-x.htm
Nightwolf!
0:58, in the background, there seems to be some concept arts and the one right by Tylers head looks like a man holding two weapons Kabal style, perhaps Mavado from MK: Deadly Alliance
