Like most people, we’re sure you love chocolate but find it endlessly inconvenient when you want to put it on bread for a sandwich! No, not Nutella – chocolate. The idea of chopping it, melting it, or spreading it? Please, who has time for such frivolities? As they have with most outrageous inventions, Japan has come to our rescue with their newest miracle, chocolate slices.
Developed by Bourbon, a well known Japanese brand that specializes in chocolate and confections, these slices make life oh so convenient. Each pack contains five slices that are two-millimeters thick. The slices are made of ânama chocolateâ which is thick chocolate thatâs made with an intense combination of of high-quality cocoa and cream. Nama chocolate is almost like a solid ganache, which means these slices are definitely rich and full of flavor.
A flat slice means this chocolate is easy to use for baking and decorating. Roll it up and make chocolate roses, punch it out and make shapes for cracker crudités, or my favorite: make it into bear, place it in a hot cup of cocoa, and watch the bear melt into oblivion like Major Toht in Raiders of the Lost Ark. Am I the only one who reimagines food as if Iâm Indiana Jones? Ok, then.
If you absolutely canât live without these amazing chocolate slices you can buy them from Bourbonâs online store, but theyâre only sold in bulk bundles of one dozen five-slice packs, which will set you back 3,240 yen or $27 dollars. A mere pittance compared to a life thatâs full of sliced chocolate.
How would you use chocolate slices? Check out the photos in the gallery and let us know in the comments!
