The new adaption of Stephen King‘s It has proven to be so popular, it may even take a run at the all-time box office horror champion, The Exorcist. Additionally, Bill SkarsgÃ¥rd‘s take on Pennywise the Clown has become instantly iconic, and one of the best cinematic villains we’ve seen in a long time. Aside from Tim Curry, we can’t even picture anyone else filling out the shoes of this murderous supernatural clown, unless it’s James Corden! Last night on The Late Late Show, Corden’s Pennywise answered a call for the IT department, and he just wouldn’t leave without feasting on fear.
After some initial confusion about whether he was directly summoned by Tim, Pennywise admitted that the whole IT and It mistake has happened a lot. And yet Pennywise couldn’t bring himself to stop terrorizing Tim under the guise of helping him. And poor Tim made the mistake of popping one of Pennywise’s signature red balloons, which is never a good idea before a meeting. Even Scary Mary knows better than to pop the red balloon.
As reported earlier this week, slasher horror legend Freddy Krueger almost had a cameo appearance in It, which fell by the wayside. But you can’t keep Freddy down forever! The master of dreams made his comeback in this skit, and he seemed delighted to learn that Tim’s computer was already in “sleep mode.”
