Jack Black Unveils ‘The Twist’ in New GOOSEBUMPS Trailer

Back in the ‘90s, R.L. Stine’s popular Goosebumps novels were adapted as a TV series that ran for four seasons on Fox. This October, Goosebumps is finally making the jump to the big screen, with Jack Black starring in the movie…as R.L. Stine!

Sony Pictures has released the new international trailer for Goosebumps, which establishes Black’s cantankerous take on Stine as he explains how to break down a story into three parts: the beginning, the middle, and the twist.

Dylan Minnette (Jack’s son on Lost) also stars in Goosebumps as Zach Cooper, a teenager who befriends Stine’s daughter, Hannah (Odeya Rush). And it’s Zach who sets the story in motion when he unwittingly releases all of the monsters from Stine’s Goosebumps manuscripts.

Because of that, most of the famous Goosebumps creations appear in the film, including Slappy the Dummy, the Abominable Snowman, The Lord High Executioner, Murder the Clown, The Mummy of Prince-Kho-Ru, The Scarecrow, The Invisible Boy, and some delightfully evil lawn gnomes.

The Goosebumps movie also stars Amy Ryan as Zack’s mother, Ken Marino as Coach Carr, Ryan Lee as Champ, Ella Wahlestedt as Anna, Halston Sage, and even the real R.L. Stine in a cameo role as Mr. Black! Goosebumps was written Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski, and directed by Rob Letterman. Goosebumps will spook moviegoers of all ages on Friday, October 16.
