J.K. Rowling Announces 12 New Stories for 12 Days of Christmas

J.K. Rowling and the world of Harry Potter seem to be the gifts that just keep on giving. In this season of good will and cheer, the English writer will gift us fans with a new story from her fictional wizarding world for 12 straight days starting on December 12th. We cannot wait.

Rowling announced the new literary treats in a newsletter to members of the Pottermore community last week. These stories will join the other three she’s written this year and posted online. If you haven’t taken the time to be sorted and learn about potion making through the online portal, this may be the moment you want to so that you can enjoy all these additional bits of Harry Potter’s world.

These new vignettes will take place in the timeline around Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, and at least one of the stories will revolve around Harry’s school nemesis Draco Malfoy. We are curious as to whether any of the stories will be distinctly Christmasy in nature or if they will simply fill in some details about the world we’re all so obsessed with as the other three additions have done. It would be fun to see Christmas at the Weasley’s when all the kids are at home, don’t you think? Or maybe a glimpse at the house elves and how they celebrate the end of the year? Also, what does an enterprising young witch like Hermione get for her Muggle parents? These are things I want to know!

According to the email, each story will go live at 1pm GMT (aka 8am ET). In the past, these stories have been buried within Pottermore in clever ways, and we’re excited to see how these new stories are revealed. Set your alarms and enjoy 12 days of presents.
