It’s Time You Kick Ass — As a Customized Superhero Action Figure

A few years ago I discovered that my midlife crisis would not take the form of a sports car or an extramarital affair, but instead lot and lots of superhero action figures. Don’t knock it though. It may sound sad, but it’s much more affordable (despite what my wife will tell you). Yet after filling my office with countless DC and Marvel toys, I think it’s time I finally invested in something greater: me. That’s why I’m thrilled to learn I can now turn myself into a customized superhero action figure through a new company called You Kick Ass, and their ongoing Kickstarter campaign.

You Kick Ass 2

You Kick Ass describes their personalized superhero action figures as “allowing customers to be an original superhero with their own superpower and superhero name. The heads are 3D printed to look like the customer. The action figures even come with a personalized comic strip describing how they became a superhero.” You can choose from a variety of costumes (and thirty different hairstyles) and create your own power and name. You Kick Ass has a minimum Kickstarter goal of $15,000 (which it’s already reached) and a stretch goal of $45,000. With almost three weeks remaining in the campaign there’s still plenty of time to contribute. There are many levels of action figure awards for backers, each of them offering these figures at substantial discounts over what they would normally sell for. So check out the You Kick Ass Kickstarter page today. Here’s a video offering a better look at the project…
