If we couldn’t have Patrick Warburton, I daresay Peter Serafinowicz is the absolute best (and most hilarious) option for the titular role in Amazon’s reboot of the live action FOX comedy The Tick. Thankfully, that is exactly the line of thought the brilliant minds over there had, as a report out of Deadline has revealed this very thing to be real and true.
Sometimes, even when dealing with reboots, the world can be beautiful and perfect and without flaw.
Nerdist has reached out for independent confirmation on the matter, but had not heard back at the time of publication. But we’re not going to let that stop us from falling down this hilarious, blue rabbit hole. Serafinowicz is set to don the blue suit previously worn by Warburton alongside his sidekick Arthur (Griffin Newman) and his sister Dot (Valorie Curry), in order to fight evil hilariously.  Wally Pfisterâwho directed Transcendenceâis set to direct. In its new iteration, the blue-suited superbug is recovering from a bout of memory loss.
Naturally, our minds cannot stop running at the possibilities for this showâespecially as the world has evolved and changed so much since the series’ initial finale in November 1996. Fingers crossed this new iteration premieres in November 2016 and sees The Tick vs. the GOP (or, heck, politics in general). Hey: there’s more than enough material there with which he and Arthur can work. We’d also be down for a The Tick vs. The Hair episode, where he is forced to battle the toupee atop Donald Trump’s head.
But what would you like to see from the new The Tick reboot? Let us know in the comments below.
