On an alien planet, a father and daughter (Tony Doupe, Callie Harlow) prospecting team’s search for resources gets interrupted by one very tough bandit. And before she knows it, the daughter will have to save both herself and her father.
That’s the premise of Prospect, a short from indie filmmakers Zeek Earl and Chris Caldwell. The whole thing really gives of a “Left For Dead in Space, But Also There’s Prospecting” vibe.

Funded, at least in part, from $21,000 in Kickstarter funds, and using Washington State’s Hoh rainforest as a backdrop, Prospect proves Earl and Caldwell are definitely a pair to watch.
Superb, very inspiring! Excellent work peeps! 🙂
That was excellent – a real Serenity feel, realistic but with that sci-fi twist. Better than Revolution or Defiance!
Great short film. Kept me interested even though it is somewhat dialog light. The story was told with the visuals and the excellent but sparing use of props. Good job guys.
You misspelled “Draugr” in the headline! She was such a pretty Draugr as well.
Misspelled “daughter”, in the the article title no less.
Nice one! Loved her T-shirt by the way. That old soviet children’s program also aired here in Sweden. The Swedish name of that character was “Drutten”. 🙂
This has more of the western type of vibe to me. The nice thing that has changed(mostly thanks to BSG and Serenity) is that laser blasters have been replaced with conventional type of firearms, which adds a realism to these films.
The modern sci-fi is turning back to their western adventure movies influences and it is a good thing.
Just wanted to say, GOOD JOB!!! 🙂
