It Will Have Been Back…TERMINATOR: GENISYS Big Game Spot is Here

You just can’t keep a geriatric cyborg down, as much as time and other robots might try. And our pal Arnold is in full display in the newest teaser for Terminator: Genisys, the movie with the subtitle no one will ever be able to spell properly the first try. This 30 second spot will play sometime during this Sunday’s Super Bowl XLIX, also known as “The Big Game” for copyright and advertising purposes (the NFL won’t allow anyone to use the term “Super Bowl” with regard to selling goods or services. Weird but true). And in case you were worried, he says he’s going to be back. Whew! What if he didn’t say it, you guys? We might not realize it’s a Terminator movie if he doesn’t say it.

The promo gives us a nice, albeit brief, look at some of the film’s bigger action set pieces, including a school bus flip on the Golden Gate Bridge, aka the site where everybody films disaster things now. We also see more of Byung-hun Lee as T-1000, who actually looks remarkably like Robert Patrick did back in T-2. And, old Arnold shooting young Arnold again. That probably won’t get tiresome.

While I’m not sure how this is going to shake out, I’m certainly intrigued by the amount of blatant timeline-resetting that’s going on here and in the first trailer. They’re perhaps trying to do what X-Men: Days of Future Past did and negate the series’ less impressive outings… We’ll see how it goes.

Also released alongside the teaser is the below special Big Game poster featuring Arnold looking like Arnold, only more white-haired and once-governored.

The NFL wants people to think they can’t use the term Super Bowl, but that’s not necessarily true…

Since the core theme of these movies is time travel they can have any number or resets and still have everything be canon and in the same universe.
This looks soo much better than the last two movies, it might even give the original a run for its money as second best movie in the franchise.
