May the 4th may be behind us, but that isn’t going to stop the Star Wars news train from rolling down the track. Amidst all the confusion regarding the news about the expanded universe and more casting announcements that are supposedly going to be revealed soon, one of the biggest questions still surrounding the upcoming Episode VIIÂ is what the title is going to be. Well, it seems today we may have our answer.
Over at Ain’t It Cool News, Harry Knowles writes: âMy original source had told me back in January that Abu Dhabi was a location, and when that came to be, he sent me a scoop that the title for Star Wars: Episode VII was The Ancient Fear,â adding, âHe also stated that âit refers to Max von Sydow’s villain, who makes Pazuzu look like a pussy!ââ
Well now, The Ancient Fear does sounds like a pretty badass title, even if it just the working one, and could mean weâll be diving into some past mythology for the new trilogy. That all sounds dandy to us, and is certainly more than enough of a news nugget to hold us over until the next official announcement comes down the line — hopefully in the form of confirmation that Lando Calrissian is in the film.
Seriously guys, where is Lando? Can we make that a hashtag?
#WheresLando
I think they should just call it Star Wars. No subtitle. Just Star Wars.
Lando is busy playing a minor minor minor role on Glee… seriously Billy Dee, have they not called you to the ranch yet?
@Jack:
(1) The idea of to Star Wars for something non-commercial has been absolutely laughable since the Christmas 1977 Kenner action figure voucher program.
(2) The casting doesn’t actually demonstrate what you’re talking about… like, at all. Oscar Isaac, John Boyega, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis… all actors with either amazing indie/nerd cred, or legit acting cred.
Jack Timar…. The whole franchise has been based on tie-ins and marketing. Why do you think it’s a $4 billion property? Lucas was the first person to really take advantage of that.
This movie is going to be so test-marketed and focus-grouped with fast food tie ins to appeal to the YA demographic, might aswell call it Star Wars: The Vampire Diaries and be done with it.
Prepare to be disappointed again…..
More importantly, #WheresLobot?
Craig Ferguson for a leading role spot in this dog and pony show.
I just want to know when we can start a petition to include the prequels into the EU.
I saw “lando” at dallas comic con, he’s burnt. Looked like he was barely functioning. Sad to say i don’t want him back. We would all be disapointed, not so suave anymore.
If they need someone to play Lando’s brother they should give Neil Degrass-Tyson a call… lol
The ancient fear refers to the original cast, they’re so old the fear is one of them will die before they’re done filming!

Just saw Mr Wiiliams at StarFest in Denver. It’s possible he may have medical issues that are keeping Lando from being in the movie. Best wishes to him and I hope he’s feeling well.
#donald4lando
anyone?
@Dulanis – If the fear is so ancient, perhaps it created that part of the Jedi Code. They were able to defeat the enemy by letting go of fear Just a thought.
Max Von Sydow…….Naga Sadow
could it be that simple?
Call it “Star Trek 53: Just Kidding, This Is the New Star Wars Movie” for all I care. Just make it a good movie.
It’s #bringbacklando, actually. We coined it at the Billy Dee panel at Dragon*Con.
The Ancient Fear? Fear is something the Jedi Code is against. It makes me think the title is fake since originally “Return Of The Jedi” was named “Revenge Of The Jedi”. Still sounds cool though.
Lando’s not a hashtag, he’s a man!
#WheresLando? Taking dance lessons…..
I’d guess that Lando will show up in Episode 8. This would align with him showing up in episodes 5 & 6 in the original trilogy. #WheresLando
