She may have only been back online for less than a day, but already, former Deadline head Nikki Finke has dropped some major news on her new site.

We’ve known for a while now that Warner Bros. is planning to kick their newly founded DCCU into high gear with the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Currently, the film’s set to feature Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and Cyborg, and the big question is, when will each of these characters get a chance to feature in their own solo films? Well, today we have some idea of how far the studio has planned ahead in this release schedule put out by Finke:

May 2016 – Batman v Superman

July 2016 – Shazam

Xmas 2016 – Sandman

May 2017 – Justice League

July 2017 – Wonder Woman

Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up

May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2

Looks like plans are finally being put in motion for the long anticipated Wonder Woman film, though we’ll have to wait for a Shazam and Sandman movie first. Interesting choices.

The one thing Warner Bros. has always had over Marvel is a lack of rights issues. Any one of the DC characters can team up with anyone at anytime because WB controls the whole library. That’s what makes it cool that we’re seeing something like a Flash/Green Lantern team-up on the list, the studio is wasting no time at giving us exactly what we want.

Also, it appears the studio isn’t taking a “phase” approach like Marvel where a single story’s built over a few solo-films and ends with a giant team up, no, here it seems DC’s just going to be having some fun with the whole thing.

As for the push from 2015 to 2016 for Batman v Superman, Finke’s sources claim it had nothing to do with injury or script issues: “Like The Avengers, there’ll be cameos of superheroes for future installments. The cameos will include the already known Cyborg and Flash. Green Lantern [not played by Ryan Reynolds, thank god] may be introduced. And Aquaman will be seen in the Justice League movie. Problem is, Warner Bros Pictures was still negotiating with the actors for those cameos and future roles, meaning major contracts for multiple JL/character films to follow. The studio didn’t want to move forward until they had more of this secure so they held off starting production for a few months.”

Reportedly, the studio will announce all of this officially at SDCC in July.
