There seems to be a newfound appreciation for the horror comedy; Scream Queens is coming to the small screen from American Horror Story alums Ryan Murphy and Brad Fulchuk, and this fall alone Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse, The Final Girls, The Visit, and Michael Dougherty’s Krampus hope to elicit both laughs and screams from their audience.
Cooties is no exception to that list: it’s a horror comedy that feels like a throwback to the no-holds-barred energy of the ’80s and features a cast of fan-favorites like Elijah Wood, Alison Pill, and Jack McBrayer.
