Inked Wednesday #65 – STAR WARS, IRON GIANT, and More

What’s better than one geeky tattoo? More than one. That was an obvious answer. Tattoos are oddly addicting and when/if you love multiple fandoms, you might want to represent as many of them as possible. For some, like me, that means getting small and separate tattoos on different parts of your body. But if you’re more ambitious, then you can work with a tattoo artist ahead of time to plan a single, cohesive piece. You’d be wearing the ultimate mash-up on your skin permanently, so you should take the time to find the right artist, but it’s possible.

Twitter user @TooleyMyBoy has gone with the keeping them separate route. He submitted four of the pieces in this week’s Inked Wednesday: the Marvel title card, Boba Fett, the Jedi symbol, and the opening crawl for A New Hope (his wife has The Empire Strikes Back opening crawl in a previous gallery).

See the entire gallery of nerdy tattoos below. You’ll see ink inspired by Star Wars Rebels (there’s a lot of Star Wars in this week’s round-up, actually), The Iron Giant, and Doctor Who.

If you have submissions for future editions of Inked Wednesday, be sure to send them my way. You should also send your work in if you’re a tattoo artist. You can get pictures to me by tagging me on Instagram, leaving a comment with a link to an image, or sending me a photo on Twitter. The higher resolution the picture is, the better, and please include credit for the tattoo artist.
