I attended a comic convention in Indiana last weekend. It’s not terribly difficult to engage in conversation at conventions–you likely have something in common with many of the attendees–but if you’re shy like me, finding a guaranteed ice breaker makes all the difference. And tattoos can be that ice breaker. While waiting in a line (those happen at conventions in case you didn’t know), I noticed the person behind me had a TARDIS tattoo. I complimented it and showed off my Doctor Who ink, and the next thing you know we were having an in depth discussion about the current state of Who, our favorite Doctors, and Steven Moffat. It helped make time fly by, no pun intended. Tattoos can bring people together.
