Today, the female comedy-folk duo who brought us such classics as Sex With Ducks and Pregnant Women Are Smug are probably a little smug themselves, as IFC has officially announced a 10-episode order for Garfunkel & Oates – a single-camera, half-hour comedy.
The eponymous series will focus on both the personal and professional lives of Riki Lindhome (Garfunkel, and host of the Making It podcast on the Nerdist Podcast Network) and Kate Micucci (Oates), whose satirical, sometimes dirty songs leave them with few people to turn to for support and acceptance. Set for a 2014 premiere, the show is produced by Abominable Pictures and executive produced by Lindhome, Micucci, and Jonathan Stern (Childrens Hospital).
You know by now that both singers are also talented actresses: Lindhome has appeared in several feature films, most recently Hell Baby, and Micucci is probably best known for recurring characters on Scrubs and The Big Bang Theory. They’re also wonderful live; Check out their website http://www.garfunkelandoates.com for a full listing of their live shows.
@soal: I’ll see your “Gosh Darn Exciting” and raise you an “Awesome”.
