Another electrifying week of gaming is upon us, and if you’ve been paying attention, you may or may not be wishing you had powers. Not super powers, but the show Powers, which had some interesting news that broke about it via press release yesterday. Me personally, I wish I had the power to grant everyone’s wishes. Zim zim zala bim!
Nothing? Alright, well let’s proceed into today’s news.
The first trailer for the PlayStation Network series Powers.
PlayStation’s first original series Powers is coming along quite dandy, as indicated by a press release from yesterday, and the first trailer for the show is set to be revealed during New York City Comic-Con next month. Brian Michael Bendis will debut the first footage of the highly anticipated series himself during the official New York Comic Con panel, and we’ll definitely be on top of that here on Nerdist upon the trailer’s release.
Assassin’s Creed goes to China, brings female assassin along.
Assassin’s Creed is getting a bunch of sweet ol’ DLC, starting with a story-based expansion titled Dead Kings. In the same fashion as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag‘s Freedom Cry DLC expansion, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China will also be offered for Assassin’s Creed: Unity season pass holders, and as a standalone title for folks who don’t own the game. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China is a side-scrolling platformer starring Shao Jun, a female assassin who you may remember from the Assassin’s Creed: Embers animated short from a few years back.
This isn’t the first time the series has featured a female assassin: Assassin’s Creed Liberation protagonist Aveline de Grandpré has made an appearance in her own title as well as in Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag DLC. After the shade thrown at Ubisoft the summer for not featuring an option for a female assassin in Unity, it’s splendid to see that they at least kept the ladies in mind for the games expansion. Now we can all hold hands and sing this song.

Three Super Smash Bros. TV ads to rule them all.
There isn’t much that needs to be said about what you’re about to see. Nintendo is advertising the hell out of Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS, and so far I am loving their “Settle It In Smash” ad campaign. Would you agree? Have a look below and tell me what you think.
If only I could settle all of my disputes with folks like so.
If only there were less bus/subway fighting videos and more videos like this.
If only out of shape fathers didn’t cosplay as Little Mac. The enthusiasm is appreciated though.
