Get your deep fryers ready because tomorrow, June 6, is National Donut Day! There’s nothing quite like waking up with a built-in excuse to devour donuts. Some bakers come up with new creations for the day, and justJENN has pulled out all the stops with a Chewbacca donut! It doesn’t growl at inopportune times or have fur, so it’s pretty much the best wookiee ever.

Thanks to Jenn’s detailed instructions, you can replicate her work with frosting, decorating tips (get them at your local craft store), and maple bar donuts. If you don’t have pastry bags and decorating tips, you could get away with improvising and cutting different sized corners off plastic sandwich or snack bags. Just keep in mind that won’t be as precise. You want Chewbacca’s teeth to look as good as possible. Like Jenn says, the hardest part of the recipe is not eating all the maple bar donuts before you decorate them.
