If you ever played a Metal Gear game, you’ve probably already picked up Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for your console of choice. And depending on how far you’ve gotten in the game, you may be aware of or already experienced a corrupt save bug that’s been driving gamers nuts. Apparently, if you take the sniper Quiet along with you on certain missions, you’re going to have a big problem on your (bionic) hands.
According to a post on Konami’s website, your save file will become corrupt if you team up with the character Quiet on “Mission 29” and “Mission 42.” While I’m sure the developer is in the midst of patching the issue, the advice they are giving players at this point in time is to simply not use the character as a buddy for the time being.
From the sound of it, the game remains unaffected as long as you tackle those missions without her. The developer also notes that the issue is known to be present on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and Steam.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the only issue people are having with the game. Since its official launch last week, there have also been complaints about server problems. Luckily, however, the rest of the game appears to be running in top-shape. Our only hope now is that Konami addresses the issue quickly, and updates the game accordingly.
