Horns, the latest from The Hills Have Eyes and High Tension director Alexandre Aja, is one of my most anticipated genre movies of 2014. Based on the novel by Joe Hill and starring Daniel Radcliffe and Juno Temple, Horns made its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2013. Since then, we haven’t heard much about the movie or when we’d be able to see it.
This morning it was announced that Horns would be released in the UK on October 31, 2014, which is leading most to believe that the US will see it on or around that time as well. In fact, Joe Hill himself tweeted this morning:
Hopefully an announcement on the US release of HORNS soon, but – no big spoiler here – expect roughly the same date.

I’m fine with waiting until Halloween to get to see the film, but this would mean that it would be released around the time of Paranormal Activity 5, which has opened very well in late October in both 2011 and 2012. October 2014 is looking heavy in terms of other cinematic horror releases, including scheduled titles such as Ouija, The Vatican Tapes, and Dracula Untold so here’s hoping the movie doesn’t get buried in an overly saturated market.
Horns will be director Alexandre Aja’s first directorial effort since 2010’s Piranha 3D.
But why such a looooooonnnnggggg delay.
I mean, what is the holdup. A year from the festivals to finally getting a major release. Please, this is ridiculous.
I want to see it but the movie will be dated by the time it releases here in the US and finally gets to Blu Ray. Maybe that will be February 2015…weeee!
*Grumble grumble grumble*
Wow. I didn’t even realize this was made into a film. I Absolutly LOVED the novel. As a Stephen King fan I am perfectly comfortable saying that Joe Hill’s work is about ten-thousand times better.
