Hop-Con 4.0 Will Tap Beers by Wil Wheaton, Jonah Ray, and More!

Every time you’ve poured delicious, wheaty beer into your gaping maw, you’ve probably noticed the flavors, the ice-cold refreshment, or the fact that you’ve had nine and can’t feel your own face, but you probably hadn’t realized that you were drinking science! It takes a lot of chemistry to create the perfect brew, and that means that the greatest chefs behind these delicious frothy delights are actually super geeks. So why wouldn’t there be a whole convention for such things? Enter Hop-Con 4.0, the fourth annual celebration of all things nerdy and beery.

Each July, the Hop-Con festival is held at the largest restaurant space in San Diego, unveiling beers from both far and wide. At this year’s convention, Stone Brewing Company is teaming up with several prominent luminaries in the nerdosphere to create tasty beverages that will make their world debut. They’re brewing one beer by Nerdist’s own Jonah Ray and another by Alison Haislip and Alex Albrecht. This is in addition to casks made by Wil Wheaton, Aisha Tyler, Bobak Ferdowsi and Rileah Vanderbilt, along with a soda by Paul & Storm.

Speaking of Mr. Wheaton, he has teamed up with Stone and Drew Curtis for the 2016 Stone Farking Wheaton w00tstout. And to go with this specialty brew, artist Amanda Conner has created a super awesome Star Wars-themed bottle art which you can check out below!

Tickets will officially go on sale (fittingly) on Star Wars Day, May the 4th, at 9:00 am. If you’re a connoisseur of the hoppy drink—or if you’re just a fan of suds—you probably don’t want to miss it. More information can be found at Hop-Con’s official website, or on Brown Paper Tickets.
