Hooking a Paintball Gun Into OPERATION Makes the Game Much More Interesting

Operation was always stressful: You move the tweezers delicately into the red-nosed naked man with a Three Stooges haircut to remedy his water on the knee and BZZT! a buzzer rigged to go off whenever the electrical circuit is completed scares the hell out of you. For how serious the task was however — performing surgery with no medical training — the stakes were pretty low. The only consequence was a startling. Now getting pegged by a paintball gun, that’s an incentive.

In the video above, the Madcap Brothers have rigged up a game of Operation to fire a paintball gun at the backs of players whenever the tweezers hits the sides. The madmen have certainly taken the game up a notch.

Got a paintball gun and some engineering experience? Here are the rules. You have one minute to play the game as normal, removing rubber bands and plastic butterflies from a naked man you just met with a red tumor in his nose. Each piece you remove is worth five points. Every time you touch the sides of each wound, that is, get hit with a paintball, you lose one point. Whoever has the most points after however long it takes you to tap out from pain wins! The brothers were surprisingly good despite shaking hands and welted backs.

What do you think? Does adding a paintball gun make this a better game, or is this more of a “watch these dummies hurt themselves” kind of thing? Let us know in the comments below.
