HIDDEN HISTORY Proves FALLOUT Fans Owe Thanks to MAD MAX

Even though it was beaten at the box office by Pitch Perfect 2, Mad Max: Fury Road has reignited a love for intense post-apocalyptic action, and everyone is diving back into it their own way. Heck, I’m re-watching the Blu-ray of The Road Warrior while I’m writing this. Those unfamiliar with the Mad Max franchise, or who have only seen Fury Road, might be interested to see how much influence the George Miller franchise has had on other films and especially video games. The Fallout series owes just about its entire existence to these films.

ShoddyCast is a YouTube channel that boasts they are “spreading the lore virus” to gamers, and the Hidden History series is the main carriers of that virus. The series takes a look at famous game series, such as Fallout, and looks at the pieces of history and pop culture that helped shape them. The channel has done several installments that pertain to Fallout, as well as Mass Effect, The Elder Scrolls, and Grand Theft Auto.

The Fallout series has been a love letter to the Road Warrior and his desert wasteland apocalypse since the first game, and it has always been pretty cool to throw on the one-sleeved leather jacket in-game. With Dogmeat by your side, you feel like there is nothing in the wastes that can stop you. Now that Fury Road has been released, and many anticipate news about Fallout 4 from Bethesda, one can only wonder what the newest game will include to nod to George Miller’s newest film.

What part of Fury Road would you like to see Fallout 4 give a nod to? Let us know in the comments below.
