Hey, Listen! Good Smile Releasing a New Figma LEGEND OF ZELDA Link

“Hyah!” – Link

In this instance, I’m in agreement with Link in his infamous Hodor-esque quote (in its excited-affirmative translation, of course.) We took a look at Good Smile’s Wind Waker version of Link late last year, and soon we’ll be doing so again with the Link Between Worlds version. Based on 2013’s hit handheld Nintendo 3DS entry to the Legend of Zelda series — and ultimately the version we know from A Link to the Past which chronologically precedes it — the newest figma Link is offered in two versions: a regular version much like the one we reviewed, and a deluxe version which comes with an assortment of additional accessories for the legendary Hero.

Good Smile has previously released one figma (styled purposefully in lowercase) and two Nendoroid versions of Link, so this newest will bring both lines up to an even match. The exaggerated stylings of the Nendoroid versions were a suitable match for the cel-shaded design of The Wind Waker, but the line’s version of Majora’s Mask Link seemed a bit out of place and overly cartoonish for the comparatively heavier title. The previous figma Link, based on Skyward Sword, was impressively articulated so we can expect the same with the newest version. Of course, a poseable stand is also included to help pose the Hero in many of his signature stances and battle poses. Both versions will also include an acrylic cutout of the game’s wall-merged link.

The Deluxe version of the figma Link Between Worlds Link includes the Tornado Rod, Hookshot, Bomb and Baby Maiamai, in addition to the Master Sword, Shield, Rupee and Pot that comes with the standard version. In other words, plenty of Hylian goodies to accompany Link on whatever adventures you decide to create for him. The figure is available for pre-order now and will begin shipping later this year. Now, where’s our figma Hyrule Warriors Zelda?
