Are you ready for some high-level Heroes of the Storm action this weekend? Aspiring Heroes players, take note, because four of the best collegiate teams in America are getting ready to battle it out in the conclusion of the Heroes of the Dorm tournament. The event will be televised live on ESPN 2 from the Shrine Auditorium here in LA this Sunday, April 26. E-sports is growing, y’all!
ESPN has become increasingly interested in e-sports after hosting titles like Call of Duty and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive in the past. There’s no denying that this is a prospering spectacle, and pretty soon, we’ll start seeing colleges providing scholarships for cyber athletes across the boardâthe University of Kentucky is already on it.
This is also great for the team over at Blizzard Entertainment, and just in time for the official launch of Heroes of the Storm in a little over a month. The icing on the cake: the telecast will be hosted by your mighty Massive host and leader of the Nerdist WoW guild herself, Michele Morrow. This weekend is sure to be a fantastic time for fans of Blizzard, the MOBA genre, and e-sports alike.
The official release of Heroes of the Storm is just around the corner, set to hit PC and Mac computers everyone on June 2, 2015. The open beta will go live starting May 19, just in case you’d like to get in on the XP soaking festivities sooner than later.
