For the uninitiated, around this time last year, The CW began toying with the idea of creating a spin-off series to Supernatural. The plan, according to various writers and executives, was to create a show based in one central location, Chicago, and give the franchise some isolation. This is how the now-titled Supernatural: Bloodlines came to be. The series will supposedly follow the world of the Chicago underbelly, which is currently being run by five different monster families, and will be launched with a back-door pilot episode set to air next week on Supernatural.
The CW has finally revealed a first look at the world being built (a world that even made our top 10 pilots to keep an eye on for next season):
In the episode (written by Andrew Dabb and directed by Robert Singer), Sam and Dean will travel to the windy city to investigate a case, during which they run into a man named Ennis. It’s through this mystery character they learn about the mafia-like Chicago families, and how Ennis is connected to them.
It’s also worth noting, for what it’s worth, series creator Erik Kripke is being listed as an executive producer on the series, a title not normally given to creators that don’t have direct involvement in a spin-off to their series. The extent of his involvement is still up for speculation.
Supernatural airs Tuesday at 9/8c on The CW.

I AM REALLY EXCITED ABOUT THIS NEW SERIES.
Am gutted I have followed Supernatural since the 1st episode and now it’s not going to be shown in the UK not impressed
I LOVE supernatural more than I can express. It is my hands down favorite show, but I have NO desire in watching this spin off. Sam & Dean are what MAKES the show. The characters are relationships in the show make it a million times better than anything, so this would basically be starting over with a vaguely similar concept.
Sooo… basically “Angel” then??
Chicago huh? Ruled by mafia like monster families? with a mysterious main character whose in the center of it all. Why don’t we just give the Dersden Files the show it deserves rather than using it to fuel other urban fantasy ip’s.
There not taking off supernatural are they? Because I having heard that . They really need to leave it on .its one of the best programs so far and I would truely miss it its like a. Part of my family
Please soften up Sam’s hair! Its too sharp and not apealin… the toss look makes him look younger. He is the younger brother, right?!
I been watching supernatural since day one. I am glad they are making a season 10. Hopefully they will keep going. But if they don’t I am glad I have a spin off called Bloodlines to watch.
They already said Supernatural has another season planned people. This is awesome and they could have had a spin off of this show a bazillion ways by now. Just be grateful the Ghostfacers’ only was an online thing…
I THINK THIS PILOT IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE IT!! THEY ARE LEAVING ROOM FOR CHARACTER CROSS-OVERS TO HAPPEN AND SERIOUSLY I AM MISSNG ALOT OF THE CHARACTERS FROM THE PAST EPISODES AND I LOOK FORWARD TO NOT ONE BUT TWO GREAT SHOWS!!!! BUT SAM AND DEAN WILL ALWAYS BE MY SPECIAL BOYS!!!!
Is it true that Supernatural is not going to be on in the Uk anymore?
Pretty interesting but I still hate the fact that THE real supernatural won’t be on
Wow ! – Can’t wait for this…….when does it air in the U.K. ?
Wow…people need to chill out! If you don’t wanna watch it don’t watch it! Supernatural will still be on, this is going to air alongside season 10 so it’s not like you’ll be stuck with one or the other! It’s already been said that episode 20 would be a kind of pilot for the spin off and set up the characters etc. && the creators of both shows have said since it’s all in the same world and will be set in the same time there’s plenty of room for character cross overs including the boys. But seriously….you all need to chill!
