Here’s a New Trailer for Laika’s THE BOXTROLLS

The geniuses at Laika, who brought us Coraline and Paranorman, could animate a cardboard box and we’d probably love it. So they did exactly that with the upcoming The Boxtrolls and it looks like we’re going to love it.

The Boxtrolls have raised an orphaned human boy named Eggs (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) in the amazing cavernous home they’ve built beneath the streets of Cheesebridge. When the town’s villain, Archibald Snatcher (Academy Award winner Sir Ben Kingsley), comes up with a plot to get rid of the Boxtrolls, Eggs decides to venture above ground, “into the light,” where he meets and teams up with Winnifred (Elle Fanning). Together, they devise a daring plan to save Eggs’ family.

At the very least, it seems Laika has developed a unique talent for mesmerizingly animating cheese plates. At the most, it’s going to be heartwarming and great.
