There are few movies that have had as hectic a release as Bong Joon-Ho’s Chris Evans-led action film, Snowpiercer. The post-apocalyptic film is about a society that lives exclusively on a forever moving train that rides through an icy world of death — where the poor are segregated to the back while the rich and powerful live comfortably in the front. Snowpiercer was coming out state-side, then didnât, then was going to be cut down, then wasnât, then got a date. Now, finally, with a release set for June 27th (as in counter-programming against Transformers: Age of Extinction), a brand new red-band trailer has been put out for you to enjoy.
âControl the engine. Control the word.â
The more we see of this movie, the crazier it becomes. At first, all we were getting were glimpses of Chris Evans kicking major ass. Now, the more we get an idea of how the plot will play out, the more this movie becomes balls out crazy. How do you create large-scale actions scenes on sets as wide as a dorm room? Well by god, the crew of Snowpiercer has found a way.
It will also be refreshing to watch Chris Evans be a badass without needing to be dressed in red, white, and blue. We all love the Captain America movies, but variety is a good thing to have now and again. Although I bet Curtis wishes he had a vibranium shield right about now.
Snowpiercer hits theaters June 27th.

I can’t wait for this film…it will be amazing. I love the idea of the last humans on earth, travelling continuously around the globe on a train … and the social commentary that ensues.
This is weird…. I’m done watching it. what the hell?
spoilers much trailer making dude? I’ve already seen the movie, but if I saw this trailer before, I could piece together the entire plot twenty minutes into the film.
I don’t understand … I live in France and I bought the BluRay weeks ago. Now I see it’s yet to be released in theatres in the US ? What a weird released timeline …
Long story short Harvey Weinstein is a jerk. He bought the American release rights, then refused to set a release date until the director agreed to re-edit the movie for US audiences.
Equilibrium meets City of Ember?
If the setting for this movie had been on a generation colony spaceship, I might have bought the concept. But a f#@&ing train! …I’ll pass.
The train is actually a much more realistic setting for the dystopian future portrayed in this story. It’s your loss if you pass, because this movie is really amazing.
