Here’s a First Look at the Upcoming MAD MAX Game

We know that Avalanche Studios has been hard at work on the next installment of the Just Cause series, but there’s this other project under the studios’ creative umbrella that we haven’t heard about in quite a while by the name of Mad Max. But that changes today, because a brand new gameplay trailer for Mad Max has finally surfaced on the web, and it’s looking like one giant metal heap of glorious post-apocalyptic treachery. Check out the full trailer above!

Pimping out the Magnum Opus with a V12 engine? That’s something I can sign up for! This trailer is packed full of anarchic Twisted Metal-like driving sequences, lovely Fallout-esque exploration, and some gruesome hand-to-hand combat. Speaking of hand-to-hand combat–did anyone else think to themselves that the CQC featured in the trailer looked familiar? Considering that this is a Warner Bros. game, it wouldn’t come as a surprise if some of combat mechanics mimic that of titles like Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and the Batman: Arkham series. Either way, this trailer solidifies that Mad Max is a game that should be on everyone’s radar.

Mad Max hits stores on September 1, 2015, for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
