David Ayer is having the last laugh for this week’s news cycle. The Suicide Squad director just dropped a bombshell on Twitter when he shared the first official picture of Jared Leto as The Joker.

I can only assume that the “HA HA HA HA HA” tattoos on his chest and arms are in reference to the “Damaged” tattoo on his forehead. In all seriousness though, this is our best look yet at what Leto will look like as the most iconic member of Batman’s rogues gallery. This official photo comes after weeks and weeks of blurry photos and abstract hints, so at least we can put an end to those infuriating clickbait-y headlines. Now, as for the look itself? This is a definite departure from what we’ve seen before and is anything but subtle, but it makes one hell of a statement. The Internet is already in an uproar, but I’ve recorded my own reactions in a special video blog:

One thing’s for certain: this is one hell of a way to celebrate Batman’s 75th birthday, huh?
