This summer on HBO, itâs Jon Snow vs. Jake Peralta on the only court that matters…the tennis court!
Game of Thrones star Kit Harington and Saturday Night Live veteran Andy Samberg have teamed up for 7 Days in Hell, a 45-minute mockumentary film that parodies ESPNâs 30 for 30 and other sports documentaries.
In this movie, Samberg steps away from his Brooklyn Nine-Nine character to portray tennis bad-boy, Aaron Williams. Opposite Samberg, Harington gets a rare comedic role as Williamsâ opponent, Charles Poole.
The premise of 7 Days in Hell is that Williams and Poole had an epic match at Wimbledon that lasted for seven days…much to the annoyance of the announcers and the fans who had to sit through the entire thing.
To lend this mockumentary a little authenticity from the world of professional tennis, John McEnroe and Serena Williams will appear as themselves. 7 Days in Hell has also assembled an amazing lineup of performers including Karen Gillan (Doctor Who), Lena Dunham (Girls), Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex), Mary Steenburgen (Justified), Will Forte (Last Man on Earth), Howie Mandel (Americaâs Got Talent), and Fred Armisen (Portlandia).
The film was directed by Jake Szymanski (Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates) from a script by Murray Miller (Girls). HBO will premiere 7 Days in Hell on Saturday, July 11, 2015.
