Hasbro’s Comic-Con JEM Doll Is Truly, TRULY Outrageous

If you’re a fan of the classic ’80s cartoon Jem, then this is the best of time and the worst of times. Best of times because we have this awesome new comics based on the classic series at IDW, which is a fun re-invention of the classic show while still keeping all the elements you loved as a kid (you know, like the Misfits, actual holograms, etc.). But it’s the worst of times because there’s this Jem and the Holograms movie coming out that seemingly resembles the show in name only, and made Jem fans all over the world, well… a little upset.

But hey, we’ve got a little bit more good Jem news for a change. For this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Hasbro is launching an all-new special edition Jem fashion doll, inspired by the original animated show and toy line from the ’80s. To add an extra layer of old school authenticity to the doll, her outfit is based on the one she wore when Jem and the Holograms filmed their first music video ‘Twilight in Paris‘ on the classic cartoon show.

The coolest part of this new doll is, unlike the old ones from back in the day, she can switch from her Jerrica Benton secret identity into to Jem. All you have to do is change the doll’s outfit and replace her head sculpt, and and then it’s “Showtime, Synergy!” Jem stands at 12.5 inches tall and comes with a doll stand, a 30″ diorama of the Eiffel Tower, and a certificate of authenticity.  You’ll be able to grab one of these amazing toys for yourself at booth #3329 at Comic-Con for $149.99. After that, she’ll be available exclusively on HasbroToyShop.com.  And now that we’ve got a cool new Jem doll, the Misfists are sure to be on their way, right Hasbro??
