Hasbro Reveals Full Marvel “Netflix” Wave, THOR RAGNAROK Wave

Ever since Hasbro first announced that action figures from the Marvel Netflix shows were coming, there has been speculation as to who would round out the wave, since only four figures–Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Elektra, and Punisher–had been officially named. Would Luke Cage be added? Could we see Vincent d’Onofrio as a build-a-figure? Today, they’ve shown us something a little different.

See, as I may have mentioned a time or two, Hasbro always includes comic-based figures in a movie wave (a) to get more obscure characters out there and (b) to use some standard body parts from their catalog rather than having to sculpt each individual figure from scratch (which would raise costs) to resemble a specific actor. So rather than make this an all-Netflix wave, Hasbro is using the Marvel Knights branding, and including a couple of other figures from the darker side of the comics universe: Blade, as drawn on the page rather than played by Wesley Snipes; and Bullseye, who will undoubtedly show up on Daredevil eventually in a less comic-y costume. The build-a-figure? A suitably oversized Man-Thing, who has been done before but smaller. And for Bullseye and Blade, it’s been a while–and they didn’t have alternate heads last time.

The first three reveals from the Thor: Ragnarok wave are comic-based, and we’ve seen two of them before. Thor, a.k.a. Jane Foster Thor; and Odinson, a.k.a. Thor Without Thor are going to be included in a Comic-Con exclusive box set that probably gives us a pretty good hint at what the other comics figures in the line might be. The third is a little cheeky: it’s Marvel’s version of Ares, public domain Greek god of war, who also happens to be the basis for the villain of DC’s Wonder Woman. If this goes anything like Guardians of the Galaxy, I’d say expect maybe three movie figures to round out the line, possibly with more in a second wave. Depending on how big they want to go with Hulk, he could be single-carded or a later build-a-figure.

Check out the full gallery below, and proceed to speculate: who will round out the Thor wave? Who should? Is it too soon or too much to hope for that we’ll be getting some Goldblum goodness? We’ll know for sure when they all come out this fall, but for now, guess away in comments below!
