Who’s ready for the crack-down?! You better be, cause Nerdist News is taking out the trash, shark-wise. Discovery Channel’s Shark Week has jumped the shark, and we’re putting a stop to it.
On today’s show, Jessica Chobot and special guest/Nerdist Science Editor Kyle Hill are showing us where Shark Week went astray, how it can course correct, and just why sharks deserve to be celebrated in the first place. Are you ready to get informed and entertained?
Enjoy today’s show, come on over for a very special Nerdist News WTFridays with guest host Jacob Soboroff tomorrow, and let us know in the comments below which species of shark you think is the most underrated!
Soooo disappointing. Could they really not see the obvious? It should say “Has Shark Week jumped the Fonz!”
Um. Well it’s better acting than Megan Fox — why wasn’t Jessica Chobot cast as April O’Neill then? Oh, and my brother is convinced that everything that was in ‘Wrath of Submarine’ was REAL.
I grew up loving Shark Week. Ever since the first one in 88, its turned my brothers and me into shark nerds. To see what it has turned into, int he light of the eradication of sharks going on right now is just sad.
Shark Week and Discovery is definitely doing more to hurt sharks, rather then helping at a time when they need it most.
FACT- more people die of toaster accidents than shark attack (^^^)
Basking sharks because they get overlooked; makos and blacktips because they’re beautiful.
Pacific Angel Shark, Whale Shark, any of the 12 varieties of Wobbegong.
my favorite is the Chobotosaurus Shark !!
