Both Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill have high praise for Solo, but how much can we really learn from their reactions? On today’s Nerdist News Talks Back we discussed expectations for the film, along with Ms. Marvel’s future in the MCU, and a roundup of the latest TV cancellations and renewals.
Host Jessica Chobot was joined today by video editor Adam Murray, Nerdist News writer Joey Clift, and co-host of the Only Stupid Answers Podcast DJ Wooldridge, and they began with Harrison Ford’s rave review for both Solo and Alden Ehrenreich’s performance after he surprised the new Han Solo during an interview. Ford doesn’t even like Han that much, so how unexpected is it to hear him say this? What about Mark Hamill’s positive reaction? How much stock can we put into the opinions of two Star Wars actors?
Disney’s other big franchise is also looking ahead, with MCU head honcho Kevin Feige saying he has plans for Ms. Marvel Kamala Khan once Captain Marvel is established in the films. How excited are we to see her on the big screen, and would we like to see her introduced in a standalone film first?
Finally, there’s been a whole lot of breaking TV news, starting with Brooklyn Nine-Nine getting cancelled by Fox…before getting picked up by NBC. How surprised are we by both of those developments? Would it have been better if it ended after five great years? Are we upset The X-Files isn’t coming back? And are the revivals of Prison Break and 24 a good idea?
