Harrison Ford is Auctioning Off Han Solo’s Jacket

Have you ever dreamed of owning Han Solo‘s jacket for yourself? Well, Harrison Ford is giving fans a shot at owning his character’s iconic accessory…which presumably doesn’t have any holes going through it! (Hey: it had to be said.)

IfOnly is partnering with Ford to sell the jacket he wore as Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens to raise money for NYU Langone Medical Center’s Finding a Cure for Epilepsy and Seizures. Ford selected the charity in part because his daughter, Georgia Ford has Epilepsy.

“I’ve been very impressed with the work NYU and the FACES team have done in the field of epilepsy research, and I hope this jacket will provide some means to further that exploration,” said Ford in a statement. “This is a cause that’s near and dear to me, and unlike the cynical Han Solo, I’ve got a good feeling about this.”

If you need a reminder of what the jacket looks like, IfOnly posted this image, which also bears Ford’s signature on the jacket.

Since the auction went live on March 21, the bidding has reached over $34,000 as of press time. But Han’s jacket has a long way to go to catch up with Carrie Fisher’s metal bikini from Return of the Jedi, which fetched $96,000 at auction last year.

If you have the money to beat the current bid, then you could still win Han Solo’s jacket. The auction will run until April 11 at 6 p.m. EST. You can find the auction at this link.
