Hands Up for This STAR WARS Severed Limbs Playset

Star Wars is full of themes. Hope. Good vs. evil. Heroes vs. villains. Dismemberment. Hands, arms, and/or legs are lost in each of the six Star Wars films. Hands and arms are the most popular choice–The Phantom Menace is the only film in which no hands are lost. If it seems like I know way too much about the lost limbs of Star Wars, it’s because I watched the films, took notes, and documented them for StarWars.com. Like you do. So, imagine my delight when I saw Janky Toys’s new line of Star Wars Severed Limbs toys. What a grand and gruesome idea.

Six creatures and people who were unfortunate enough to be dismembered are featured in the series: the wampa, Ponda Baba, Darth Vader (he loses body parts as Vader and Anakin, poor guy), Darth Maul, Count Dooku, and C-3PO. The wood card backs are reminiscent of vintage Kenner designs, and honestly, I’d buy a poster of the above image. The figures will be made from hand (ha!) poured resin and painted by hand (double ha!) and because they are made with such loving care, pre-orders are limited to 10 figures total.

The figures in Series 1 of the Severed Limbs playset are expected to ship in late June. They’re all available for pre-order now though, and you can purchase the toys individually for $20 each or you can get the whole set of six for $100. See all of the card backs separately in the gallery below. These might be my new favorite Star Wars toys.

Would you buy a one-armed wampa? Head to the comments and tell me which Star Wars dismemberment is your favorite.
