Hackers Take Over San Francisco in WATCH DOGS 2 Trailer

After teasing the reveal of Watch Dogs 2, Ubisoft has finally dropped the first trailer, and let’s just say the game is looking parkour-licious. The new hacking adventure will move to the action from Chicago to the great tech mecca, San Francisco. Our protagonist this time around will no longer be Aiden Pearce; rather, in his stead will be Marcus Holloway, an African American DedSec hacker from San Francisco. Online co-op has been confirmed to be making a comeback (along with invasions), but this time with the promise of a more seamless integration without loading screens, according to GameInformer.

Now, take a gander at the sick reveal trailer above. For even more information, check out the longer announcement below.

Overall, this sounds like it’ll be more of the same, with some extra polish and refined gameplay mechanics, which is great news for those who enjoyed the first one. Plenty of players (including myself) wished the hacking abilities in the game were more robust, so hearing Ubisoft promise more powerful tricks to use while exploring San Francisco is fantastic. Speaking of powerful tricks, Marcus’ weapon of choice is a sort of improvised flail made from a pool ball and a lanyard. It looks kinda goofy in theory, but seems pretty effective in action. As for the visuals, they look stunning–something we should start expecting from future games on a consistent basis. Even if you weren’t a big fan of the first title, there were enough cool ideas there which could be expanded on to make the sequel special. You can expect Ubisoft to reveal even more info on this title at E3 next week.

Watch Dogs 2 will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PCs on November 15, 2016.

What did you think about the first trailer? Do you like the setting and new protagonist? What improvements do you hope Ubisoft has made to the series? Were you a fan of Aiden? Don’t hack our systems, but definitely let us know what you think in the comments section below!
