Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy comes to theaters on Friday August 1st (duh) and there have been LEGO sets available for them for months (and they’re super cool), so naturally some talented internet filmmaker puts the two together. Basing it on one of the 30 second TV spots, YouTube star Forrest Whaley (forrestfire101) gives us a shot-perfect recreation, with little touches like having Admiral Ackbar in the background in one scene, and other non-Guardians minifigs walking around. He even animates the mouths, you guys! This makes us wish he could do the entire movie in this fashion for the Blu-ray release. Take a look, my babies!
A LEGO Glenn Close; I bet you never thought you’d see one of those, huh? And quite fitting that Chris Pratt plays Peter Quill given his previous Master Builder incarnation. Whaley does a great many LEGO videos, so you enjoy this one, you’ll certainly like the rest of his channel. And to show how spot-on his trailer is, have a look at the orig.
In case you didn’t know already, we here at Nerdist love us some Guardians of the Galaxy and can’t wait for people to get to see it. We know you’re probably chomping at the bit to see it as well, so to hold you over, how about you watch Brian Walton and Dan Casey’s immediate reactions to it, and then read my full review? We know you want to. I. Am. Groot.
good version!
i like it if people use LEGO that way!
Perhabs, i will learn it some day to
