GRAVITY FALLS Creator Reimagines Presidential Candidates as POKÉMON

2016 isn’t just the 20th anniversary of the original Pokémon RPGs, it’s also an election year here in the US. And as such, the headlines have been dominated by both pocket monsters and politics. So why not combine the two? Creator of the beloved (and recently ended) Disney animated series Gravity Falls, Alex Hirsch, has reimagined a few of the presidential candidates as Pokémon.

Let’s just say the choices for the monster counterparts for each candidate is spectacular. But you can be the judge of that:

The always fiery senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders as Charmander. Feel the Bern!

The most appropriate of them all, Schmuck for Donald Drumpf. Poor Muck, what did he do to deserve this?

Hillary Clinton as Butterfree.

Alright, Marco Rubio as Diglett is funny in and of itself, but the “Dig self into hole” attack takes this over the top.

And of course, our favorite sleepy neurosurgeon.

With the election cycle intensifying recently, it’s fun to take a breather and laugh at these somewhat accurate Pokémon representations of a few of the candidates battling to become the commander in chief of the United States. There’s nothing wrong with bringing some levity to a conversation that has recently become marred in negativity.

Make sure to check out all of our Pokémon 20th anniversary coverage, and if you want to talk anything pocket monster-related leave a comment below or start a conversation with me on Twitter: @Collegescrubz. Would you choose other Pokémon to represent these presidential candidates? Which of the above is your favorite?
