Last week’s episode of The Flash placed Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) directly against Zoom for the very first time…and let’s just say that the results were not pretty. The demonic evil speedster isn’t going away anytime soon, but perhaps Team Flash will formulate a new plan in the near future.

There are potential spoilers ahead for The Flash! If you don’t want to know what may be coming up on the series, then you should stop reading now. You’ve been warned!

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Gustin said “It sounds like we’re going to be making an Earth-2 trip in the future at some point this season…I don’t know which characters are going to be going. I’m pretty sure Barry will be one of them. I don’t know if we’re going to see his doppelgänger when we go over there. I’d imagine we would.”

A field trip or a rescue mission to Earth-2 makes sense, because recent episodes of The Flash revealed that the Earth-2 Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh) has a daughter who is being held prisoner by Zoom…and she’s Jesse Chambers (Violett Beane), the counterpart to the comic book speedster heroine, Jesse Quick. That connection certainly implies that Jesse Chamber she will eventually gain superspeed as well.

Another possibility is that Earth-2 will allow The Flash to keep Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) as a heroine while also introducing her villainess counterpart, Killer Frost. A few weeks ago, Panabaker showed off her Killer Frost costume, so we know she’s coming at some point.

The potential Earth-2 excursion may also mean something fun for Detective Joe West, according to his portrayer, Jesse L. Martin. “Earth-2 Joe might have a little musical element to him,” claimed Martin, nodding to his Broadway past as a performer in Rent.

One thing that is clear is that The Flash probably won’t be going to Earth-2 before the midseason finale.
