DC Entertainment has made it very clear that its approach to live-action wonât simply imitate Marvel’s. For example, the successful DC inspired TV series on The CW will be completely separate from the DC Extended Universe that will spawn from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad. That means that even though Grant Gustin portrays The Flash on TV, Ezra Miller is the man who will play Barry Allen in The Flash solo movie and in the Justice League films.
The Flash is one of the most popular shows on The CW, and Gustin has the good will of the fans at his back. But Gustin recently made it clear that he harbors no grudge against Miller. In fact, Gustin went out of his way to make sure that fans know that he stands with Miller.
âI fully support Ezra Miller as Barry Allen and the Flash on the feature side of DC,â wrote Gustin in an open letter posted to his twitter account. âIâve never met the guy, but I think he is a fantastic and interesting actor. Would I have liked to play Barry Allen in a film? Sure. I love this character and it has changed my life and making movies and TV is something that I hope to be fortunate enough to do for the rest of my life.â

Hey, Twitter. Stop putting words in my mouth. Hate that I felt the need to do this, but read this if you please. pic.twitter.com/uVeoGGYRez
