Hey, gang: this post contains spoilers regarding the end of season one of Mr. Robot. If you’re still not caught up, please turn away from this post toute de suite!
If poor Elliot wasn’t stressed out at the end of season one of Mr. Robot, it sounds like he most certainly will be when season two rolls around. Because, thanks to a new casting announcement, the FBI is getting in on the epic Evil Corp hack that dismantled the corporate juggernaut.
Grace Gummerâan actress best known for her work on shows like American Horror Story: Freak Show, Extant, and The Newsroomâis slated to play Dominique “Dom” DiPierro, a young FBI field agent investigating the Evil Corp hack that topped off last season. According to the press release, “she uses her instinctive skills to try and track down the fsociety members and find answers.”
Based on the language, it feels safe to assume Dom DiPierro will be a formidable adversary for Elliot and fsociety as they move forward this season. Although part of us hopes that she, eventually, comes around to their side after they clue her into the crazy-ass Illuminati-esque dealings of all those ne’er-do-wells in the creepy mansion (B.D. Wong’s White Rose notwithstanding). And, of course, we’d be remiss not to mention that this likely means Meryl Streep will soon be watching Mr. Robot right alongside the rest of us (Gummer is her daughter). What a time to be alive.
