Comic-Con is just a little over a week away, which means weâre also a little over a week away from getting our first taste of the fan response for Gotham, as the series is holding a screening of the pilot and Q&AÂ on Saturday the 26th. But, before then, Fox has released an all new TV spot for the series set to the glorious track of âTicking Bombâ by Aloe Blacc. (This song really does go good with anything, huh?)
Despite the fact the man has had a stellar past few years doing playing a gritty cop on Southland, there are folks who are still worried about Ben McKenzie taking on the role of famed Gotham police officer, Jim Gordon. These promos should reassure McKenzie’s dissenters, as this is clearly not The OC heartthrob of the early 2000s. This guy can totally bring the goods. Not to mention heâs got Donal Logue on his side for back-up. Everythingâs going to be just fine. *checks bribe from Fish Mooney* Yup, juuuuust fine.
Seriously though, we are really looking forward to Gotham which, so far, looks like it could be a series that can stand with some of the best cable drama fare. Thatâs our sincere hope, at least.
Gotham premieres September 22nd at 8/7c on Fox.

People need to remember something very important. This IS NOT a batman story, this is a Jim Gordon story. Give the birth of Gotham a chance, it’s amazing.
Agreed. Also, I couldn’t agree more that Ben McKenzie will rock this role. He’ll be amazing.
