GOOSEBUMPS 2 Trailer Teases R.L. Stine’s Scariest Book of All

More than two decades ago, R.L. Stine‘s Goosebumps novels first scared young readers while establishing a franchise that grew to include a TV series and a feature film in 2015. Later this year, the Goosebumps sequel will follow up on the events of that movie while introducing a brand new cast of characters. In the first trailer below, the new kids discover that Stine wrote a previously undiscovered story for his 63rd Goosebumps novel: Haunted Halloween. Supposedly, it was the one Goosebumps story that was never meant to be read. Now, it’s been unleashed upon the world along with almost all of Stine’s monsters and ghouls.

So far, there’s no sign of Jack Black‘s R.L. Stine in the trailer, and it appears that he completely abandoned the house that he lived in. If so, it was also very careless of him to leave Goosebumps #63 behind. As established in the first movie, each of Stine’s original drafts could bring their Goosebumps monsters into the real world. Stine feared Slappy the Dummy more than any of his other creations, and with good reason. Slappy once again appears to be the primary threat of this story as well.

This time, the burden of stopping Slappy will fall upon Sonny Quinn (Jeremy Ray Taylor) and Sam Carter (Caleel Harris), since they were the ones who let him out of the book. Madison Iseman co-stars in the film as Sarah Quinn, Sonny’s older sister.

Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween will be released on Friday, October 12. What do you think about the first trailer for the Goosebumps sequel? Let us know in the comment section below!
